Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Wait, it's not good to say that three times in a row! This Beetlejuice costume idea comes from the classic Tim Burton film. Just use our Women’s Graveyard Ghost Costume, add a little makeup, and you’ll be a female Beetlejuice in no time. There are a lot of different routes you can take with this one, but all of them lead to a good time! Just make sure you pack a few one-liners to get you through your event.
As an etsy seller, I personally don’t think it’s unethical to list an item in any blog post (even a DIY one,) as long as the link takes you back to the item listing, and/or the creator is given credit. This one just happens to have been deactivated, maybe because the seller did it, or it’s possible etsy did. Either way, even if the item was copyrighted, someone crafty could make something similar for personal use (but, from what I’ve seen, not of the same quality unless they’re experienced with printing on fabrics!) Most sellers are up on their SEO and google stats, and it appears this one’s sales haven’t been hurt by their item being posted all over the web. 😉
The character Cherry Darling from the movie Planet Terror startled folks when they saw that one of her legs was a machine gun. Then it inspired some women to recreate the scene. Now, if you are a beautiful amputee like Lacey Henderson, who gained note as a college cheerleader a few years ago, you can make hay by cosplaying the character at fan events. Henderson has a webpage with instructions for those who aren't amputees on how to recreate the Cherry Darling look, and an annual competition is held for the best machine-gun-leg costume.
More people are going to college, taking longer to become financially settled, have easier access to birth control, and are embarking on demanding careers that put family life on the back burner. In addition to having children later in life, the average cost of raising a child has increased dramatically over the generations, so one or two kids might be all some couples can afford. These factors all add up to create smaller families, which means we’ll likely see fewer middle children throughout the country in future decades if these trends continue. And without them, we’ll lose out on all of the remarkable traits seen below.
My personal favorites from the last few years: Proper Young Lady, complete with leather bound “books” balanced my head and penny loafers; Mother Nature with butterflies, birds, leaves, and glitter all over and in my hair (inspired from Martha Stewart’s “Grey Lady” costume); and Medusa, a sheer black toga over leggings and a men’s long-sleeve black tee where i split the sleeves on the outside and cut the neckline to match the toga and decorated everything with gold and bronze paints, rope belts, decorated gladiator sandals, and snakes glued to hair clips that slithered through and stood up in my hair.

On May 1, 1886, 35,000 workers went on strike in Chicago as part of a larger organized labor protest across the country. For the first two days, the protests and demonstrations were peaceful, but by May 3, violence broke out between laborers and police during a protest at Chicago's McCormick Reaper Works factory, leaving several workers wounded or dead. The incident encouraged anarchist labor leaders to call for another protest the following day in Haymarket Square, where violence broke out again after police attempted to disband the crowd. At that point, an anonymous individual threw a bomb at the police, killing one officer at the scene. The police retaliated, and when all was said and done, seven officers and (at least) one civilian were killed in the chaos, and plenty more in the crowd were injured.
